I dont like the idea of having both factions on 2 servers. We are a smallish guild anyway, and if we split accross 2 servers I think it would feel like there was noone there.

My choice is Horde, alliance is sooo common - migty palas and brave gnomes wack dark forces. As far as WoW seems to be less mecanic and more roleplaying as DAoC, i want to have a bit 'pepper' in my chars.

I aggree with you Alg on the 2 servers being too much, but if I had to choose one side, it would be the Undead Horde.

It will be very difficult to choose, as when I played an Undead Warlock, NE druid and Human priest, it felt like I was playing three completly different games, as the quests and surroundings are so different from each other, but the Undead area for me was the most entertaining, both graphically and quest wise.

Ehm, after having read up on things a bit more on forums etc. I have to agree with Yuri: Alliance seems to turn a bit into an Albion of WoW.

Downside is that Horde is more like a Middie variant of WoW, but I have to admit, I'm starting to be more inclined to go for horde the more I read up on things.
Besides, who wouldn't want to play a cow in an MMO?

So I'd have to change my vote (which I can't) into horde.

My vote is for Alliance.

I think however, that on a PvE server you can have both Alliance and Horde toons on the same account?
If this is the case it may provide a solution.

I'm reckoning all the testosterone poisend leet kiddies will be playing horde - hence my vote for alliance.

I will play either, but I would still prefer a normal server to PVP one even if it means we have to make a decision on this split issue

Mymosa is correct on the aspect of creating any character of any Faction on a Normal server, However you will only be able to communicate by emotes if logged on as different faction characters, and can not share anything else (just stating the obvious I know).  Also all your characters of the same faction only can share items through mail.

As to the Horde V Alliance ...it looks like Mymosa got the Veto on this (looking at the final votes) so Alliance is the most likely for the Roses.

As to the PVE V PVP also trends lean towards the PVE server, now it's just a question of what named server we choose, and judgeing from the USA there will be alot to choose from, and whether we go High/Medium or Low population, and designing a tabard for the Roses...So much to do! and So long to make all the Gold needed to complete it... LOL ...You'll never be rich in WOW, and to get a mount takes 40G, but boy/girl will you look cool when you have one!

O by the way, just for info...and not to gloat and say "I told you so!" but PC GAMER have reviewed WOW at 94%...
